CAREC Corridors 2, 5, and 6 (Dushanbe-Kurgonteppa) Road Project

Project Description

This project finances upgrades and improvements to the toad between Dushanbe and Kurgonteppa, the confluence of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation corridors 2, 5, and 6.

This includes upgrades to the 33km road section between Dushanbe and Chashmasoron, improve facilities and safety along and near this road, strengthen the institutional capacity of the Ministry of Transport, and complete procurement for the next segment of improvements.

Investment Description

The funding for this project comes from both Grants and Loans provided by the ADB and other funds. The breakdown is as follows:

US$15.8 million Grant from the ADB's Asian Development Fund
US$2.0 million Grant under the Clean Energy Financing Partnership Facility
US$49.4 million Loan from the ADB's Asian Development Fund
US$12.0 million Loan from the OPEC Fund for International Development
