Energy Supply Improvement Investment Program Tranche 2 (Formerly Multitranche Financing Facility II:
The project comprises construction of a 300-MW High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Back to Back Convertor Station at Pule Khumri, which will allow the imported Turkmen power to be synchronized with the national electrical grid of Afghanistan.

The project will allow year round Turkmen power (300 MW) to be amalgamated and synchronized with indigenous power in Afghanistan.
