Karot Hydro Project

An Early Warning System analysis has been published for the Karot Hydro project in Pakistan, which is financed by the International Finance Corporation (IFC). In addition to IFC financing, this project will be one of the first to be financed by China’s Silk Road Infrastructure Fund. The project will involve the construction of a 720MW run-of-the-river hydropower plant on the Jhelum River. The project was recently approved and is now active.
